How Do I Get Skin Tags? What Are They?
As you know, I’ve been sharing a lot of info about the wart vinegar method here on my blog. Everything about it is fascinating to me.
In my travels through the Internet, I found another awesome article on the wart vinegar method that I’d really like to share with you.

You probably know, if you have them, that skin tags cause a lot of pain and discomfort, both physically and emotionally. They are unsightly – one might even say gross – and they can appear and multiply almost overnight. Not to mention that, in addition to the aesthetic aspects of skin tags, there is a physical irritation that often goes on, as well – particularly since skin tags often appear on the body in the crook of one’s arm or elbow, where skin rubs against skin, or where clothing rubs against your skin. This can make it very uncomfortable, almost painful, especially when the skin tags get bigger. So, then the question becomes – what actually causes these annoying little buggers? Well, sadly, the answer is that we don’t really know. What we do know, however, is what some of the factors might be that contribute to them growing, even if they are not the entire cause.
Here are some of those contributing factors:
- Periods of life, particularly pregnancy, where hormones are quite active and skin is stretching and growing at a high rate of speed
- Diabetes and resistance to insulin.
- HPV, the so called wart virus
- Illegal steroids like those used by body buildersRemember, skin tags are technically tumors, and no one knows for sure what causes tumors to grow. Still, anything (like steroids or hormones) that naturally encourage growth of flesh and muscle will, of course, also encourage the growth of skin tags once they start. That’s just logical. However, no one knows what the exact causes are.
